Avolio Family Wine

Wine Label Design | Branding

Overview:

In 2025, Nico Avolio commissioned a wine label design for a special family-made wine crafted by his grandfather. The goal was to elevate the presentation and give the product a refined, professional look while honoring the rich personal history behind it. The design needed to feel elegant and vintage, incorporating a photo of Nico’s grandfather to reflect the wine’s heritage and emotional significance.

Problem:

The challenge was to strike a balance between personal storytelling and professional branding. The label needed to reflect the craftsmanship of homemade wine-making while standing out visually among other wines on the shelf. Integrating the grandfather’s image tastefully and choosing design elements that communicated heritage, elegance, and authenticity were key.

Solution:

The final design placed Nico’s grandfather at the heart of the label, creating an emotional connection while using a color palette inspired by the vintage tones of the photograph—rich browns and soft creams. Grape and leaf motifs subtly referenced the product’s roots in wine-making tradition. A custom-shaped label added an artisanal, premium touch. The serif and script typography pairing reinforced a sense of timeless elegance and personal warmth, with the tagline: “Crafted from the roots of heritage and heart of tradition.”
