Seton Hill - SHU20 Summit
Logo Design | Event Branding | Print Design
Overview:
In 2014, Seton Hill University launched the SHU20 Summit, a two-day leadership training event designed to empower student leaders involved in campus organizations. The summit included sessions on time management, communication, event planning, and campus tools like OrgSync. I was tasked with designing a logo that visually captured the summit’s focus on leadership, growth, and empowerment.
Problem:
Although Seton Hill had many engaged student leaders, there was a lack of formal training to help them effectively lead and navigate university procedures. The SHU20 Summit aimed to fill this gap. A unique and meaningful visual identity was needed, one that would resonate with students while aligning with the university’s branding.
Solution:
The logo design centered on the imagery of a chessboard, using a pawn and queen to symbolize leadership growth. The pawn represented student leaders at the beginning of their journey, while the queen behind it reflected the leadership potential they could achieve. A clean, modern design with a red, white, and black palette reinforced themes of ambition and success. This approach captured the summit’s core message: nurturing leadership and empowering students to grow into strong, strategic leaders.
